Up to September 2019, there are 36 877 national standards, 62 262 ministerial level standards, 37 818 local standards, 9 790 social association standards and 1.14 million self-declaration standards. China has set up 1321 National Standardization Technical Committees and sub-technical committees, with nearly 50,000 experts, 89 secretariats of international standards organizations, 583 leading international standards formulation, and nearly 5,000 Chinese experts registered by international standards organizations. At present, there are nearly 4000 compulsory national standards in China, involving food, consumer goods, safety in production, environmental protection, engineering construction and other fields.
