CAC: Regulations on Cross border Data

The Cyberspace Administration of China announced the Provisions on Promoting and Regulating the Cross border Flow of Data at the end of March, which came into force as of the date of promulgation. Data processors should identify and declare important data in accordance with relevant regulations. If it has not been notified or publicly released as important data by relevant departments or regions, the data processor does not need to apply for data export security assessment as important data. The specific list of important data is yet to be announced by the industry regulatory authorities.
