In 2019, the import and export volume of Western medicine products will reach US $84.029 billion, a year-on-year increase of 32.77%. Among them, the export volume reached US $41.109 billion, an increase of 11.46% over the same period last year, returning to the fast lane of double-digit growth; the import volume reached US $42.92 billion, an increase of 62.55% over the same period last year. For the first time over the years, the trade surplus turned into a deficit, with a deficit of US $1.811 billion.
In the first half of 2020, the import and export volume of Western medicine products will reach US $45.693 billion, with a year-on-year growth of 9.4%. Among them, the export volume was US $23.64 billion, up 13.13% year on year; the import volume was US $22.053 billion, up 5.65% year on year; the trade deficit turned into surplus again, with the amount of US $1.587 billion.
