Shanghai implements VI emission standards for light-duty vehicles

Since 1st July, Shanghai shall implement the state VI emission standard (6b) for light-duty vehicles registered in Shanghai (including transfer from other provinces and municipalities) in advance. After the implementation, vehicle of state V sold and issued before the 1st July (excluding 1st) in other provinces, could still apply for registration. The state VI emission standard are divided into 6a and 6b versions. Compared with state V, the state VI 6b requires to decrease carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide by 50% and 42% respectively.
