The revised Environmental Impact Assessment-EIA law cancels the administrative license for the qualification of EIA institutions, and retains only one item of EIA for construction projects. More than 80% of EIA projects need no approval. In January 2019, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment promulgated the requirements for the follow-up work of cancelling the administrative licensing items for environmental impact assessment of construction projects.
